Description: This rides starts at the intersection of Idaho Steet and 5th Ave. Head south out of town and follow the highway. Head back to town when ever you want.
Comments: My wife and I spent the night in Elko on the way to Tahoe and wanted a quick ride. This was a nice climb on a wide shouldered highway. After the peak, it's a gradual descent, so the ride back is pretty easy.

This route was just fine for a quick ride while out of town. Nice shoulder and good road conditions, although traffic was moving pretty quick.

Nice steady climbs in both directions. Pretty evenly balanced grade out and back. I liked the smooth new bike path on the way back to Elko! More dead bunnies on the road than I ever care to see again in my life. Beware of roadkill and fast cars. Next time, I'd like to take this further into the Ruby Mountain park and make a longer ride of it a little earlier in the day.
